Destroy and rebuild. It happens sometimes. A few months ago I was in “destroy mode”. The old RSE website was on the receiving end. Everything else related such as YouTube and SoundCloud were also deleted. I had no regrets at the time, but now it’s time to start rebuilding.
Regarding YouTube: I don’t really feel like re-uploading the live performance videos of old stuff that was produced when I really had no idea what the hell I was doing (hell, I still don’t). I understand that several fans liked them and I really appreciate it, but the material being performed was really just demo quality (most of the songs on the first official release from Rhoq Solid Entertainment: Joey Tee & Pica – The Split EP). This is not a knock on either Pica or Joey. Both of them love writing, singing and performing. Both of them love Freestyle. But when we recorded that stuff – we just kind of hit record and let whatever happened, happen. (LOL) I think we’ve all grown a lot since then and if there was a chance of getting them to record fresh vocals I’d be more than happy to revisit those tracks and bring them up to spec.
There are a few other videos that I might re-upload, someday (such as Wilson performing his great song “I Was Lost”, which is one of only a handful of songs that I’ve produced that I actually like). But YouTube is not a priority at the moment, so it may not ever happen.
To the point of this post. I realize that SoundCloud is currently the “it” place for music nowadays. So in this rebuild phase, I plan to start a new SoundCloud page for the RSE catalog.
Since I am officially inactive (retired?), I don’t anticipate there being anything new posted to SoundCloud, but there will be new releases in 2014 of previously unreleased material that may be new to you, including Latino Rosario’s debut album – which will enter post-production before the end of February 2014. I anticipate being able to announce a release date for sometime in the Spring 2014.
But first thing’s, first – new RSE SoundCloud page. Once it’s up and running, the link will appear in both this post and in this site’s navigation menu.

Just a quick note – As you may have noticed, the RSE website has a new look.
With the re-design (powered by WordPress), I’ve decided to keep it simple and just use CD Baby for the RSE Music Store. In the navigation menu at the top of the site, you will find a link named RSE Music Store.
Four titles are currently available:
1. “Never Be Forgotten” by Latino Rosario (6 Versions/Maxi-Single)
2. “Missing You” by Latino Rosario
3. “Endless Heaven” by Erik Christian
4. “You’re The One For Me” by Pica (2 Versions)
Please note that everything we offer for sale on CD Baby is also available for purchase through all other major digital music stores including iTunes, Google Play and Amazon. CD Baby offers a few different download options including 320kbps MP3 and lossless FLAC for the listed price, at no additional charge.
Our back catalog of previously available titles will be added soon, as well all-new releases for 2014!
Thanks for your support.

The title of this post is a bit misleading and I apologize for that. These aren’t new releases as in, I’m back and making new music. No, these “new” releases are just songs that were recorded years ago, but haven’t been released yet.
Before that, the first planned release from RSE in 2014 will be the debut album by Latino Rosario. We are in the process of rerecording some vocals and doing final mixdowns. I expect the album to be finished soon and available for purchase in the Spring.
After the Latino Rosario album, I plan to finally release the single for “Another Love” by Denine. It was recorded back in 2006 or 2007 during a time when she was between labels.
I’ve also got one or two songs by Wilson that I promised him I’d finish up and get out there. Better late than never!
I will post an update once I have more information to share.
Available November 26, 2013 via all major digital music stores!

Exhausted and frustrated, I had decided to officially close RSE on October 24, 2013. I posted the following message on the official RSE Facebook page:
A few months ago, I made the decision to step away and take a break from music. At first I thought I’d take at least a year off. After giving it much deeper thought – after 12 years, I have decided to retire.
I’ve lost my passion and it stopped being fun. Lately, it’s felt more like a chore than anything else. Once it gets to that point – I see no reason, at all, to continue.
Does this mean that I won’t make any new music? I don’t know. Someday I might get that itch that needs to be scratched. For now, though, I am perfectly content with this being the end.
I want to thank everyone who has supported my music over the years. You kept me going a little while longer!
This page will remain active for archival purposes.

Letting go of the music was something difficult and in a “heat of the moment”, rash decision, I deleted the original RSE website and cancelled the web hosting package for rhoqsolident.com. I won’t say that I regret the decision completely, I do feel that I may have acted a bit hastily and deleting the website was probably just a tad bit too extreme.
Since I still own the “rhoqsolident.com” domain name and the chances are likely that RSE will return before the domain expires in May of 2015, I decided to move it over to a new web host and start completely fresh. I don’t know how long it will be before the new Rhoq Solid Entertainment website is up and running. That all depends on my mood, really. I also don’t quite know what type of content will be available. Right now, I am playing around with WordPress. I’ve always liked the layouts of WordPress-based sites. I have a feeling that the new RSE site will be more of a personal Blog than anything else. We shall see.
Until next time, I hope you guys had a great holiday and wish you a happy new year.
